Story
Thomas Oldham was the son of John Oldham (1891-1957) and Mary Ann Lilley (1894-1967), who married in Kippax on 15th March 1913. The family lived at 23 High Street. Thomas was a general labourer, but in August 1934, he appeared at the Leeds West Riding Court alongside Arthur Norton, a miner also from Kippax, and they were was charged with three counts of housebreaking and stealing (below):

Thomas’ father John was also a labourer and worked in the Air Raid Precaution Decontamination Squad (a WW2 Decontamination Squad pictured below) during the War. In 1944, Thomas was injured while serving in France, and brought back home.
Thomas passed away in 1992.
