Born: 12th September 1895. Died: 11th July 1957.
Story
Thomas was born in Kippax, and was the son of Tom Plows (1868-1953) and Florence Mary Beeston (1874-1952), and they were living at 26 Crosby Road, Holbeck in 1911. Thomas was a grocer when he enlisted on 25th October 1915. After his training, he spent all his time in France, but was caught being absent without leave and was docked two days’ pay on 24th January 1916, and later overstayed his leave by 24 hours over Christmas 1916. On 27th May 1918, Thomas was hit by shell fragments, and suffered a wound to his right calf and left knee. He was hospitalised, and eventually discharged from the Army on 4th March 1919.
After the War, he married Nora Woodbridge in Holbeck on 2nd April 1921, and they lived at 14 Barkly Terrace, Leeds, where Thomas worked as a Tram Driver. He passed away at the age of 61 whilst at Old Lane, Beeston. His widow, Nora, was left £246 16s 4d.
