Story
Charles and Stanley, plus their brother Rowland were all born in Kippax, and all three enlisted. They were sons of Thomas Wright and Martha Jane Dunnill. They initially lived on Kippax High Street, before moving to Brigshaw Lane. Charles was too young to enlist, so claimed to be born a year earlier, and joined the Royal Air Force at the end of the War. He was discharged 26th April 1920. Charles married Edna May Holleyhead on 30th March 1929 in Swillington. In 1939, they were living at 90 Hunsworth Lane, Spenborough, and Charles was working as a Gravel Works Foreman in charge of machinery. He passed away in Dewsbury at the age of 79.
Stanley enlisted early in the War, and is mentioned as having joined the Army by 18th August 1915, but it is not known in which regiment he served. After the War, he married Evelyn Annie Sharp in Kippax on 18th September 1920, and ran his own Window Cleaning business. By 1939, they had moved to Adwick-le-Street, West Yorkshire. He passed away in Doncaster at the age of 86.
