Story
Maurice was the son of William Edwards (1865-1929) and Mary Jane Farrar (1864-1922). He was a 5 ft 9¾ inch tall coal miner, living with his parents at 2 Manor Terrace, Kippax when he enlisted for the Coldstream Guards on 17th December 1915.
Maurice served at home until 24th April 1918, but was released from the Army, being surplus to Military requirements. He married Annie Eliza Collinson on 2nd March 1918 in Kippax, and they had three children, and moved to 233 Westfield Lane, continuing to work as a coal miner. Maurice passed away aged 77.
