Born 22nd March 1895. Died 1980, aged 84.

Story

Joseph was the son of William Bullock and Naomi Allen.  He was the older brother of Jim Allen Bullock, who became Manager at Fryston Colliery and president of the British Association of Colliery Management.  Joseph enlisted on 9th January 1915, whilst living at 12 Princess Street, Bowers Row.  He was 5 ft 3 inches tall, and whilst in the Army he suffered from being gassed on three separate occasions.

After the war, Joseph married Eleanor Wilson (pictured below) on 1st February 1919 in Allerton Bywater.  He continued to live locally, in Castleford, and returned from the War to work as a coal miner once again.  Joseph passed away in 1980, one year after his wife.
