Story
Fitter Henshaw is a Great Uncle to Mr. Eric Ingham, Great, Great Uncle to Daniel and Nicholas Ingham and a Great, Great, Great Uncle to Caitlin, McKenzie, Katie and Sarah Ingham.
John enlisted in Driffield early in 1916. Before the war, he had married his wife in 1907 and was working as a gas fitter and stoker. His officer wrote to his parents stating that he had been struck in the head by a piece of shell, and that death had been instantaneous. His parents received £11 6d from the army after John’s death. He is buried in Hedge Row Trench Cemetery, Zillebeke Ypres, West Vlaanderen, Belgium
