Story
Edwin was born in Castleford, and was the son of Edwin Stead Robinson and Elizabeth Turner. His father was born in Armley Leeds, but moved to Castleford, and married Elizabeth Turner there on 7th February 1903. He was a Colliery Deputy, and passed away in 1931.
Edwin jnr. married Nellie Collinson (1914-1989) in Kippax on 18/08/1934, and then moved to Hemsworth. However, they returned to live at Lower Well Lane, Kippax. Edwin spent 6 years in the RAF, and had been superintendent of the Prudential Assurance Co. Pontefract division. On 8th August 1945, he sent in the War time anecdote below to the local press. Soon after, Edwin and Nellie celebrated the birth of their daughter Jennifer.

Sadly, Edwin passed away on 5th April 1950 at the age of 38. He is buried in Kippax with Nellie. His father-in-law, George Collinson served in the First World War, but was killed at Peckfield Colliery in 1939.
