Story
Dennis’s parents were John Parker (1892-1981) who was an ARP Warden during the War, and Minnie Stephenson (1890-1979). John and Minnie married on 7th October 1914 in Kippax.
Dennis was present at Normandy on Tuesday 6th June 1944, which was the Allied invasion of France during Operation Overlord. Dennis drove a tank on D-Day, but it was struck, and Dennis was thrown from the vehicle near the Rhine river. He was taken by the Germans, and spent the next six months as a prisoner of war. After his release, Dennis returned to his parents at 2 West View. On 6th June 1949, Dennis married Enid Rhodes in Kippax (pictured below), and they moved to 8 East View.

Dennis is the grandfather of Katrina Wilkinson, who lives in Kippax. He passed away on 6th December 2016.
